Dear Friend,
This past year our Museum was able to continue to present cultural programs and interesting exhibits to the public with your help, our friend and sponsor. We thank you for your generosity, which makes our cultural work possible.
During the last season we continued to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the 1848-49 Hungarian Freedom Fight against the Habsburgs. The exhibit was shown on several occasions in various communities during the past year. Clara and Mari Györgyey presented their work and art at the Museum. Marika and László Petri’s lifework to keep the Hungarian Theater alive in North America was recorded for posteriority. László Fornwald, composer and pianist was introduced to the community through a concert. Dr. Miklós Érdy talked about the unique Hun and early Magyar horse burials. The Museum exhibited donations collected in recent years, among which the most valuable was the artwork of Jenő Doby (1834-1907), donated by his granddaughter Klára Benkovich. Our next program will be on December 19th, Christmas in the Orient. Rev. Marianna Király of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Passaic will speak about her visits to the Christian Churches in South-India.
The Hungarian Museum of Passaic is dedicated to preserve and exhibit Hungarian cultural treasures past and present. We also plan to continue presenting young Hungarian artists living on either side of the Ocean.
The Museum counts on financial support from all previous and new friends. To be able to continue our cultural work we plan to hold our annual MUSEUM GALA BALL on Saturday, January 22, 2000.
Please become a patron for the Museum Ball and send us your donation. We always appreciated the generous contributions of our friends and we hope for continued support. We would like to acknowledge all contributions in our invitation, so please respond before December 5, 1998.
We are dedicated to continue to present Hungarian culture and to serve the Hungarian cultural life of Northern New Jersey to the best of our ability.
With great respect
